Description
Hardcover. Limited/Numbered. Signed by Author. A slim volume consisting of a mere 10 leaves bound between red boards with a gold cover label and illustrated with a tipped-in frontispiece by Artemis. Noteworthy is the foreword by Lawrence Clark Powell. One of 1,000 numbered and signed copies, this being number 522, signed by Bennett on the limitation page. An uncommon Steinbeck peice and one not usually found in this condition. Very mild edge-wear to boards and old glue mark from where book plate was obviously attached to inside of front board. Else a very good or better example of Bennet’s essay chronicling John Steinbeck’s youthful anti-clericalism. A nice peice for the Steinbeck collector. Goldstone & Payne F1. Very good.
