Small hardcover volume bound in gilt bonded blue faux leather and housed in publisher’s slipcase. 93 unnumbered pages. Introduction and Legends by J.J.G. Alexander. Selective Bibliography and Notes on the Binding. Reprint. This Book of Hours was produced for Engelbert II of Nassau, circa 1470, and illuminated by the Master of Mary of Burgundy. Manuscript text is in Latin, written by the expert calligrapher Nicolas Spierinc. A facsimile of the copy housed at the Bodleian Library, Oxford. Previous owner’s name and date on front free end-paper. A clean, fresh, otherwise unmarked copy. Slipcase solid with no splits or bumps; some mild age toning present. Near fine in a very good slipcase.
