Hardcovers, two large quarto size volumes bound in gray top-grain genuine pigskin with all edges gilt, raised spine lettered in gold and covers stamped in 22kt gold. Vol. I 499 and Vol. II 589 pages. Index. in each volume. Additional refinements include bound in silk ribbon marker and end-leaves of gray fabric moire. Illustrated with XIV plates in vol. I and several vignette drawings in text in Vol. II. This special limited edition was prepared from the 1909 edition, published at the Clarendon Press, Oxford, First edition thus. No previous ownership marks. Publisher’s paper label/book-plate laid in loose, personalized to original subscriber, and indicating that this is copy 921. .
