The present volume deals with the Soviet governments’ first efforts to protect the history of Russian fine arts of the XII-XV centuries, concentrating on the theory and practice of their protection and restoration and based on the work of Igor Grabar. Russian monumental and easel painting of the XII-XV centuries feature prominently in these efforts. Light gray cloth printed in red and black, book is clean, tight and unmarked.
