Description

Hardcover, octavo volume bound in full dark forest green gilt stamped decorative leather. Illustrated by Rene Ben Sussan with full page colored drawings and black and white vignette drawings throughout. Prefatory essay by John T. Winterich. A quality Easton Press production with all the refinements that go to make this a truly fine binding: silk moire end-papers and bound in ribbon marker, all edges gilt, raised spine, 22kt gold stamping, smyth-sewn binding and full genuine leather. A title in the Collector’s Edition, the 100 Greatest Books Ever Written. Reprint edition, first printing thus. No previous ownership marks. A clean, tight, fresh and unmarked copy. Bottom of fore-edge shows some light indents to gilt but no loss and front upper tip appears to have been slightly bumped with old repair. An attractive copy with excellent shelf appearance. Near fine.
