Description
Large format paperback, staple bound in white pictorial covers. 40 pages plus covers. Profusely illustrated with 116 rare archive black and white photographs, including 13 close-up photos; 3 pages of detailed 1:48 and 1:72 scale drawings by Ian R. Stair and three color profiles by Ray Rimell on rear cover. “Fabric – Camouflage and Markings” essay by Ray Rimell and Appendices round out this issue. First edition. Though ordered in large numbers, the DH.9’s performance was found to be unsatisfactory, in part because of the unreliability of its power-plant. After multiple attempts were made to replace the original Beardmore Halford Pullinger 230 hp (170 kW) engine the type was redesigned and an American V-12 Liberty engine was adopted solving most of the planes issues. An excellent resource for the scale-modeler and airplane enthusiast. No previous ownership marks. A clean, fresh and unmarked copy. One of the more difficult Datafiles to source in any condition. Near Fine.
