Description

Large format paperback, staple bound in white pictorial covers. 36 pages plus covers. Profusely illustrated with rare archive black and white photographs, with many close-up views; 3 pages of detailed 1:48 and 1:72 scale drawings by Ian R. Stair and three color profiles by Ray Rimell on rear cover. “Colours and Markings” essay by Ray Rimell and Appendices round out this issue. First edition. It was a case of ‘always the bridesmaid’ with the Pfalz D.XII, even though it as a capable fighter and produced in large numbers near the end of the First World War, it never escaped from the shadow of its more famous contemporary, the Fokker D.VII. Grosz’s monograph provides an excellent synopsis of the planes developmental and operational history, all the while providing the “modeller with unprecedented documentation for this classic fighter.” A clean, fresh, unmarked and near as new copy. Fine.
