Description
Large format paperback, staple bound in white pictorial covers. 32 pages plus covers. Illustrated with nearly 60 rare archive photographs; 10 pages of detailed 1:72 scale drawings by George Haddow and three color profiles by Ronny Bar on rear cover. First edition. Another classic Datafile title appearing late in the series, albeit not reflecting the significance of the R plane as an offensive weapons platform. With the demise of the Zeppelin as a strategic bomber Germany turned more to her nascent fixed wing, heavier than air fleet. The siting of the Staaken gun on upper wing positions was just one of the innovations introduced on the new R-planes. An excellent resource for the scale-modeler and airplane enthusiast. No previous ownership marks. A clean, fresh, unmarked copy with bright covers and no creases. Near fine.
