Description

Small staple bound oblong paperback, published by the Fantod Press, [New York], 1990. This is no. 127 of a limited edition of 500, [the first separate edition] of this title, signed by Edward Gorey on the colophon page using the pseudonym Mrs Regera Dowdy [an anagram of his name]. Unpaginated [32 pages]. Original blue/gray stiff paper wrappers with decorative illustrations on both front and back cover by Gorey. Illustrations printed on rectos, corresponding letterpress on facing versos. A very nice low numbered copy of this title, printed by the press that Gorey founded in 1962. The story was first published in “Dark Forces” (1980) and subsequently in “Amphigorey Also”. A pristine copy with sharp corners, no previous ownership marks and no creasing. Fine.
