Description
Hardcover, reddish brown cloth with patterned paper covered boards, housed in publisher’s dark blue cloth slip-case. 206 pages. Illustrated with photographs. First edition. As the prefatory note from the President of the Society notes, this is a new kind of history, one of “…a history of things and possessions rather than of people and events.” The former refers to the rather voluminous collection of books, records and artifacts belonging to the Long Island Historical Society, of which the present volume is but a cursory review. No previous ownership marks. Printed spine labels in red and green, green label rubbed as per usual with this title. Else a clean, square, unmarked copy. Slipcase shows minor marks, else fine. Very good+ in a very good+ slipcase.
