Description
Large format soft-bound volume, plastic comb spine and color cover page, covered by acetate sheet. 185 pages. Index. Edited by Keith Urban. First edition. A collection of stories and anecdotes, some dating from the 19th century, but most of more recent vintage, either related directly to the author or culled from the “Staten Island Advance” or the “Staten Island Register”, and all purportedly true. The author, a native of Suffolk, England, settled on Staten Island in 1959 and became in his retirement an amateur historian and chronicler of life on Staten Island, the present volume being the best known of his books. No previous ownership marks. A complete, sound and unmarked copy of a very scarce piece of Staten Island lore. Very good.
