Description
Hardcover, dark blue cloth, no dust-jacket. 309 pages. Appendix of a Bibliography of Sala’s works, Index. Illustrated with a frontispiece in color and 16 plates of illustrations and others in text. Second impression, published one month after first printing. Evidence of bookplate removal on front free end-paper. Biography of the writer, journalist, dramatist, and painter [George Augustus Sala], who, along with his family, was closely tied to Charles Dickens. Sala’s works were often mistaken for those of Dickens. No previous ownership marks but for slight glue residue from bookplate. Spine lettering worn but readable. A clean, square, copy with no underlining, marking or writing. Near very good.
