Hardcover, olive cloth with large reddish background color cover paste-down. No dust-jacket. 315 pages. Illustrated with 12 color plates by John R. Neill. Black and white illustrations Neill have been colored in by former owner [crayon?] with some skill. No offsetting present, amateurish but well executed. Early printing circa late 1920’s. No titles listed on the verso of ownership page, Reilly & Lee imprint on title-page and lower spine. Corresponds to Hanff and Greene’s secondary binding. Previous owner’s name on colored-in ownership page. Most color plates show old damp-stain to lower fore-edge corner, not affecting image and not visible on text pages. Minor toning to pages as per usual and one or two marginal darker spots. Very minor abrasion to cloth at lower spine, else cloth cover are very clean and paste-down bright. A clean, square, tight copy with strong hinges and all pages firmly attached. A very nice color plate copy of this the tenth title in the OZ series. Scans of interior sent on request. Near very good.
