Bound in the original dark green cloth with dark green endpapers, this second edition of contains an engraved title dated 1863 and a printed title dated 1864. Illustrated with 40 steel engravings by Crowquill and 33 woodcuts. First published in 1839 by Reynolds, who himself was a popular novelist of the period, and riding the wave of Pickick popularity, the novel was reprinted several times.
