News article from the Sydney Morning Herald dated Sat. 26, 1969 covering Richard Gardiner Casey’s wreath-laying at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, and his subsequent stepping down as Australia’s Governor-General, affixed to front free endpaper under clear plastic. This book covers the personal reminiscences of Lord Casey during the war years, most particulary the three posts he held in succession from 1940: Australian Minister in Washington [1940-42]; Minister of State in the Middle East , with a seat in the War Cabinet [1942-43]; and Governor of Bengal [1944-46]. No previous ownership marks. A clean, square, unmarked copy [but for inside covers and article affixed]. Very good+ in a very good+ dust-jacket.
