This book covers the personal reminiscences of Lord Casey during the war years, most particulary the three posts he held in succession from 1940: Australian Minister in Washington [1940-42]; Minister of State in the Middle East , with a seat in the War Cabinet [1942-43]; and Governor of Bengal [1944-46].
