Hardcover, small quarto bound in black faux leather spine with red label lettered in gold, over light brown cloth lettered in gold with blind-stamp of Nonesuch logo on front cover. 419 pages. Complete, with original wrap-around present and heavy acetate protective covers. A facsimile of the 1937 Nonesuch Press edition, [itself reprinted from the Third Edition], which was limited to 877 copies, reproduced with all original illustrations, in this case by George Cruikshank. The present copy is a stated first edition, first printing with full number line, being a one of six titles reproduced in facsimile from the original Nonesuch Press set and now published by Barnes & Noble. Private gift inscription to former owner as birthday present on title-page, dated 2006. No other marks, writing or faults to book. Paper wrap-around is in excellent condition. Acetate covers show several short tears at lower outer joint and both lower tips, now clear tape repaired. A near fine copy.
