Description

Paperback, perfect bound in stiff white card covers. Unpaginated. Concordance by Catalog Number and Index appended; glossary in the 1930 catalog. Illustrated with 625 black and white photographs of all prints appearing in both catalogs, with brief letterpress description identifying each by title, artist, publisher and date published, print run (if known), etc. First reprint edition thus, one of a very limited print run, albeit we can not identify the number, though a respected dealer in the field puts it at 600. An important resource for the study of Shin-Hanga {“new prints” or “new woodcut (block) prints”} woodblock prints between the years 1912 and the outbreak of Japanese hostilities in China. No previous ownership marks. A very clean, square, fresh and unmarked copy, like new. Fine.
