Description

A total of 59 German color post-cards depicting the Holy Land and one map card, printed on one side only. Card measure 5 7/8″ x 3 13/16 “. One of the postcards is a duplicate, hence their are 58 unique and individual photographs and one map of Jerusalem (in German). Most cards are titled on verso in English and French, though some include German. All housed in a folding red cloth covered clam-shell box, stamped on upper cover in gold and titles “La Terre Sainte”. All cards but the duplicate are numbered with a small neat number written in ink on lower right, in blank white margin (3 through 61). Published circa 1932. All cards show mild bow and very mild toning to versos; albeit color images are bright and unmarked. Folding box is intact but worn at tips with some lose to red cloth. Images include photographs of people, architecture, interiors and landscape views. Overall a good set with age wear commensurate with age.
