Description
Hardcover, octavo volume bound in full burgundy decorative leather. Illustrated by Edward Ardizzone. A quality Easton Press production with all the refinements that go to make this a truly fine binding: silk moire end-papers and bound in ribbon marker, all edges gilt, raised spine, 22kt gold stamping, smyth sewn binding and full genuine leather. A title in the Collector’s Series, the 100 Greatest Books Ever Written. Binding is in fine condition, with excellent shelf appearance and one or two minute blemishes to gilt on fore-edge of bulked sheets. Interior shows 10 small, round previous owner’s (corporate seal) blind-stamps, all located at lower fore-edge corner and all on blank areas of page, except one that affects text. Else interior is clean and unmarked. An attractive copy but for the prodigal use of the blind-stamp. Still a very good copy.
