Description
Hardcover bound in royal octavo dark blue sewn cloth binding lettered with title on spine in gold. 191pp., Customized dust-jacket produced by former owner [?] shows portions of front, rear and spine art for novel mounted on backing and protected by reinforced mylar cover. Artwork is from the first paperback edition, circa 1970, and is by Nick Gallaway. As best we can surmise this may be an early print on demand copy. Former owner’s bookplate has been printed as last page, strongly suggesting this is a privately printed copy. Title page indicates that the text was taken from the Leisure Books edition, now re-printed in large format and cover-art blown-up . This futiristic sci-fi tale was originally published in Astounding magazine in 1940. L. Ron Hubbard of course went on to found the religion of Scientology. A very clean, square, unmarked copy. Only flaw is that mylar covers have been pasted to inside of boards, else as new. Fine in an interesting and not unattractive wrapper. Surely a unique copy. Scans on request.
