Description

Hardcover, bound in full genuine red leather with gilt stamped figure of a man on horse-back with lance raised on both covers. 682 pages. New introduction by Irwin Edman. Illustrations by Edy Legrand. Translated by John Ormsby. A quality Easton Press production with all the refinements that go to make this a truly fine binding: bound in satin ribbon marker, all edges gilt, raised spine, 22kt gold stamping, smyth-sewn binding, acid free archival paper and full genuine leather binding. A title in the Easton Press series “The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written”. Previous owner’s book-plate on half-title and name and address stamp on lower title-page. Mild fading of peach silk end-papers at extremities, as per usual with this color. Bottom edge shows an odd stamp, possibly an initial, applied over gilt. Overall a clean, square, tight and unmarked copy. Even with previous ownership attributions and stamp a very good+ copy. A large heavy book, Priority and International orders will be charged postage at actual cost.
