Description
Hardcover, large octavo volume bound in full light brown decorative leather. 726 pages. Illustrated with color frontispiece portrait of De Gaulle and two sketch maps. Includes a Bibliographical Note, Index and a foreword by President Ricard Nixon, written expressly for the Easton Press “Library of Great Lives” edition of this title. Tipped-in loose is a small slip from Easton Press “Library of Great Lives” with a brief note of verso about Richard Nixon. A quality Easton Press production with all the refinements that go to make this a truly fine binding: silk moire end-papers and bound in ribbon marker, all edges gilt, raised spine, 22kt gold stamping, smyth sewn binding and full genuine leather. This title was issued in both navy blue and light brown leather with gilt stamping by The Easton Press, priority unknown. No previous ownership marks. Some light blemishing to gilt on fore-edge of bulked sheets, else a fine copy. Very good+.
