Small 23 page pamphlet from the publisher’s entitled “Notes from the Editors” laid-in loose. This special limited edition was prepared from the first American edition of 1842 courtesy of the Yale Medical Library. First edition thus of a limited edition, this being number 921, with original subscriber’s personalized book-plate, bearing limitation number, unused and laid-in loose. An early 19th century foundational medical text by French physician Philippe Ricord which definitively proved, through rigorous clinical experimentation, that gonorrhea and syphilis were distinct diseases rather than variants of the same infection. A clean, fresh and unmarked copy, pristine and as new.
