First edition, probable first state (as per Blanck.) Original cloth with cover illustration in red, blu, black and brown. Illustrated with 23 [of 24] plates by P eter Newell. Plate called for at p. 154 lacking, apparently never bound in. Cloth age soiled and backstrip quite darkened. Spine slightly cocked. A good reading copy with wonderful Newell illustration s. BAL 731
