This special limited edition was prepared from the first English edition of 1685 courtesy of the Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine. First edition thus of a limited edition, this being number 921, with original subscriber’s personalized book-plate, bearing limitation number, laid-in loose. An important work for medical historians albeit most all the practices recommended are obsolete, if not barbaric by modern standards. Still, Willis provides the definitions, symptoms, and proposed cures for a wide range of conditions, including epilepsy, digestive disorders, and fevers along with the accompanying pharmacology, including recipes and dosages.
