Description
Hardcover, bound in decorative full brown leather. Brand new in factory shrink wrap. 662 pages. A quality Easton Press production with all the refinements that go to make this a truly fine binding: bound in satin ribbon marker, all edges gilt, raised spine, 22kt gold stamping, smyth-sewn binding, silk moire end-papers, acid free archival paper and full genuine leather binding. Special eight page pamphlet containing a special introduction by Edmund S. Muskie laid-in loose. Illustrated with black and white photographs. Includes Index. Special collector’s edition signed by President Jimmy Carter. N.B. Easton Press published this title first in The Library of the Presidents (1986) and reprinted it in 2020, both were signed editions. Usually found in gray leather this copy is bound in brown and has title and author running vertically between two raised hubs on spine [see scans]. We believe this to be the earlier of the two Easton printings, that being the one issued in ‘The Library of the Presidents’ though as it is still sealed a definitive pronouncement is not possible. If you are looking for a President’s signature in a fine binding this copy is in excellent gift quality condition. A pristine copy, still in original shrink wrap.
