Description

Hardcover in unpriced publisher’s dust-jacket. 185 pages. Translated by Roslyn Hirsch. Edited by Eli Pfefferkorn and David H. Hirsch. Dust-jacket illustration by Ed Lindlof. The personal account of nearly two and a half years spent interned at Auschwitz. Nomberg-Przytyk’s memoir came to light only after its discovery in 1980 by one of the editors, sequestered in the Yad Vashem Archive in Jerusalem. In addition to the first hand depictions of camp life, the author’s reminiscences provide the most extant first hand description the Mengele’s horrific experiments, as she worked as an attendant in the camp hospital. Previous owner’s small round blind-stamp on lower half-title page, else book is fine. A clean, fresh and unmarked copy. Dust-jacket shows very mild edge-wear. Near fine in a very good dust-jacket.
