Description

Two slim volumes bound in white pictorial boards, housed in pictorial slipcase designed by Yolanda Cuomo. Facsimile editions of “25 Cats Name Sam and One Blue Pussy” by Andy Warhol [privately printed circa 1954 in a limited quantity of 190 copies] and “Holy Cats” by Andy Warhol’s mother (Julia Warhola) [privately printed in the early fifties]. Illustrations in the first title are by Andy, in the second by Julia who also supplied the calligraphy for both volumes. The facsimile of “25 Cat…” reproduces copy no. 4. First edition thus and first reprint edition of these exceedingly scarce titles. “25 Cats…” is clean, tight and unmarked; “Holy Cats” shows moderate tanning to backstrip and very mild wear at very top of spine. No previous ownership marks. Both housed in original publisher’ slipcase which is in excellent condition. Very Good+ copies in a fine slipcase.
