First edition in book form of some eleven tales, first published in “The London Mercury” between the years 1924 and 1932. John Collings Squire launched “The Lond on Mercury” just after the First World War, in 1919. In it he showcased the talents of new writers such as Auden, Spender, et alia. Original red cloth decorated in dark blue. Book plate of former owner mostly obscured by dustjacket flap. Small excerpt from magazine [Time, 1939] neatly pasted onto front free endpaper. Dust-jacket shows some age wear and is protected by acetate covers. Very good in very good dustjacket.
