Froissart was born in Valenciennes (c. 1337) and accompanied Queen Philippa to England in 1361. His Chronicles encompass his travels from this point until the beginning of the reign of Henry IV providing first hand accounts of his travels and history of the contemporary scene as he saw it. Part historian, part war-correspondent, Froissart was one of medieval Europe’s greatest writers. No previous ownership marks. A used copy that has been read but is in good condition. One signature appears sprung, but still attached. No writing, marking or underlining to text. Good.
