Description

Original Wraps. 116 pages. Illustrations. First Edition. This exhibition, staged to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the completion of “The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club,” was held at the New Dudley Gallery in London from July 22 to August 28, 1907. It was held under the auspices of the Dickens Fellowship and opened by T.P. O’Conner, M.P. The extensive catalog of exhibits were compiled by Matz and Ley, and an introduction entitled “Pickwick the Immortal!” was supplied by Percy Fitzgerald. Housed in the original green printed wraps and containing 10 illustrations. A very scarce piece. Wraps show light chips to spine ends and mild toning, especially at edges. Still a very good or better catalog of an important exhibition. Podeschi H320
