Description
Stated first American edition, though published the same year as the E.J. Hale edition, which is given priority as the first American appearence of these sketches together in book form. “Sketches of Young Ladies was actually written in the 1830’s by another writer with the nom de plume of ‘Quiz’; Dickens then wrote the other two, published in England in 1838 and 1840 respectively. A nice copy in the original heavily decorated reddish brown cloth. Very good. Podeschi D73
