Small oblong hardcover with covers illustrated by Gorey and artwork repeated on dust-jacket. Dust-jacket unclipped and sporting publisher’s / distributor’s printed price label on inner flap. Unpaginated. [64 pages]. Signed by author on title in his usual manner, directly above crossed out printed name. Stated first edition. This is the original first printing by Congdon and Weed measuring 7 1/2″ x 6 1/4″. The affixed label on the inner dust-jacket flap is from Peter Weed books who published one of the two subsequent reprints of this title in 1986, however both of those books were a half inch taller than the present copy. This copy was most likely overstock acquired by Peter Weed Books and re-branded with the addition of their label. No previous ownership marks.. A nice copy of this signed Gorey title in dust-jacket with an interesting, and confusing bibliographic provenance. Fine in a near fine dust-jacket.
