Description
Slim tall octavo bound in yellow linen spine over printed color paper covered boards, original blue slipcase present. No published date but circa 1934, making this an early entry in the long list of titles printed by the press. Indeed, Peter Pauper’s publishing of Donne is ” thought to have sparked new interest in the Jacobean poet”. The present volume contains the Complete group of lyrics known as Songs & Sonets (sic). It has been set in Weiss type, and printed on a specially-made Peter Pauper Press paper”–Colophon. No previous ownership marks. Yellow spine darkened, as is printed paper spine label, albeit still quite legible. End-papers toned as per usual. Slipcase sound with no splits or cracks but moderate age toning and darkening. Else book is clean, square, and unmarked internally. Good in a good slipcase.
