Text block untrimmed and partially deckle-edged. Illustrated with 5 colored (pastel) drawings 8 black and white drawings and 4 headings by John Austen. Limited edition of 850 copies, this being number 225. “Disraeli’s father, Isaac, also a writer, considered The Infernal Marriage and the novel it immediately followed, Ixion in Heaven, to be his son’s most original contribution to literature.” ( The letters of Benjamin Disraeli Volume I 1815 – 1834). No previous ownership marks. Book is clean and unmarked, with very slight bow to front board. Dust-jacket is edge-worn and chipped, with spine age toned. Still a very good copy in poor dust-jacket.
