Two Volumes. Large format hardcovers in dark blue cloth, lettered in gold on spines, no dust-jackets as issued 482 and 499 pages respectively. Volume I “Origins”; volume II “Normandy and the Ile de France”. Bibliographies and Indexes in both volumes. Extensively illustrated with plans, diagrams and photographs. First printing thus, a reprint of the original 1909 edition. Previous owner’s small label inside front cover of both volumes. A very clean, square, fresh and unmarked set. Cloth covers protected by very well crafted handmade acetate covers. A fine set.
