Sara Teasdale was one of America’s best-known and most popular poets during the 1920’s. Her work “Love Song (1917), won both the Columbia Poetry Prize (now the Pulitzer) and the Poetry Society of America Prize. “Helen of Troy” is one of her earliest works and very scarce in the true first edition. No previous ownership marks. Front end-papers toned, with outline of Teasdale (?) transferred from news print article that had been laid-in. Minor wear to tips and slight discoloration to paper on rear cover. Interior clean and unmarked, hinges strong. A very good or better copy of a very scarce first edition.
