Stated first edition, first printing. The author’s put forth the premise that it was the lure of wealth from the China trade that gave initial impetus to America’s westward expansion, and hence to the consolidation and development of the nation. No previous ownership marks. Book is clean, square and tightly bound with no writing or highlighting. In very scarce edge-worn dust-jacket, quite age darked, especially at spine, though essentially complete. A very good copy in a fair dust-jacket.
