Born August 24, 1832, Canning was acquainted personally with Dickens, having met him at Gadshill and had penned several other works about the author. The present title examines the novels, Oliver Twist, Old Curiosity Shop, Barnaby Rudge, Martin Chuzzlewit, David Copperfield and the unfinished Mystery of Edwin Drood. Previous owner’s small round blind-stamp on front free end-paper and incidental wear to cloth. A clean, sound, square and unmarked copy. Very good.
