Stated first Modern Library edition. Dust-jacker style F; binding style 7 [this title, like several other at this time, 2/8″ larger than normal [6 7/8”]. 242 titles listed on verso of dust-jacket, corresponds to Spring of 1936 printing. Book is tight, solid and unmarked, with clean covers and no writing or marking internally. Moderate spine lean from shelving. Dust-jacket shows moderate edge-wear along upper edge and down rear outer hinge, spine panel darkened/faded with title just legible. A difficult Modern Library title to find in the true first edition and very difficult to source with the original dust-jacket. A near very good copy in a good dust-jacket.
